In every country there is a different culture with its own norms and values. Despite these differences, it is of course the intention that all basic human rights are guaranteed. These basic rights are laid down in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). The declaration has been around since 1948 and has been signed by all the countries of the United Nations and has since been an important basis for all human rights. Human rights go further than the rights from the declaration and mainly supervise proper treatment of employees in the business community.
FF-Packaging is an internationally operating company. Not only does sales take place both at home and abroad, but production also takes place in many countries. It is therefore self-evident that FF-Packaging has to deal with various cultures. Different rules apply to employees' rights in each country. It is of course of great importance to FF-Packaging that all parties with whom business is done attach importance to human rights and take good care of staff.
In order to have a certain minimum guarantee for all staff, FF-Packaging has drawn up its own code of conduct - the Code of Conduct. The code states, among other things, that there must be no child labor at the production sites, all employees must work in a safe and healthy environment, no one may be discriminated against, all employees must earn at least the minimum wage and that working hours must also be in accordance with local law. These rights can also be deduced from the statement, which states, for example, that employees are entitled to a fair wage and rest.
Now you may realize that a Code of Conduct is a great initiative, but as a company you never know what it is like at a production location. This is different at FF-Packaging, because there is good personal contact with the people behind the companies. In addition, several FF-Packaging people visit all production locations several times a year. In this way, FF-Packaging can guarantee that foreign production locations also comply with FF-Packaging's code of conduct and that all their employees are treated and rewarded fairly.
