Climate neutral

The realization that global warming is caused by us humans means that more and more companies are setting the goal of reducing CO2 emissions or becoming climate neutral. The importance of doing business in a sustainable and environmentally friendly way is becoming increasingly important. In addition, rules are imposed by governments and the consumer also asks for measures with which companies can demonstrate that they are taking action to reduce their CO2 emissions.

An important way of reducing CO2 emissions is by conducting business in a climate-neutral way. But what does this actually mean? Maybe you are curious about this or you wonder what we at FF-PACKAGING do to contribute to this. Below we provide a brief explanation.

What does climate neutral mean?

The description climate neutral means an action, service or product that has no negative impact on the climate and therefore does not contribute to climate change.

Emissions
It's actually quite easy; those who use less also emit less. However, this is easier said than done, because it often also involves a change in behavior. Some examples of this are taking the car or plane less often, turning the heater one degree lower or taking a shorter shower. Living closer to work or eating less meat also contribute to lowering CO2 emissions.

A simpler way to reduce CO2 emissions is, for example, by reducing energy consumption through better insulation, economical equipment or by using LED lighting.

Durability

By using sustainable alternatives, less energy is consumed, which reduces CO2 emissions. Some examples, such as the use of solar panels, a heat pump or by opting for energy generated by wind turbines make it easier to reduce CO2 emissions.

Compensation
Another option to reduce CO2 emissions is by compensation. This refers to measures that compensate for CO2 emissions. For example, it is possible to invest in projects with which trees are planted, for example. Trees remove CO2 from the air during their growth. It is also possible to invest in initiatives that deliver equipment that emits less CO2.

What are we doing?

As a leading supplier of carrier bags and packaging, we also take responsibility for the climate issue at FF-PACKAGING. By reducing our emissions, we can contribute to reducing CO2 emissions. We are aware of this and that is why we take this into account on a daily basis.

Simple examples of this are separating our waste, using LED lighting and only serving fair trade labeled coffee and tea.

We are Fairtrade® certified. This trade mark protects farmers in developing countries and invests in projects that replace old equipment with improved versions that reduce CO2 emissions by 50%.

We also work with logistics partners who are affiliated with Lean & Green, the program that transporters use to reduce their CO2 emissions.

In addition, at FF-PACKAGING we offer our customers the option of purchasing our bags and packaging in a climate-neutral way. This means that your order does not have a negative impact on the climate and you therefore also contribute to reducing CO2 emissions!
